An access flap allows replacement of the filters. The carbon filter permits continuous and effective filtering of dust. If the passenger compartment filter becomes blocked, this may reduce the performance of the air conditioning system and generate unpleasant odours.
We recommend the use of a combined passenger compartment filter. By means of its second special active filter, it contributes to the purification of the air breathed by the occupants and the cleanness of the passenger compartment (reduction of allergic symptoms, unpleasant odours, and greasy deposits).
At the start of summer or winter, have your battery checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Brake pad wear depends on the style of driving, especially for vehicles used in town over short distances. Check the thickness of the pads if necessary. A drop in brake fluid level, unless due to a leak, indicates worn brake pads.
For information on checking the brake disc/drum wear, contact a CITROËN dealer.
If parking brake travel is excessive or performance is reduced, it should be adjusted by a CITROËN dealer or qualified workshop. Refer to the servicing and warranty booklet for replacement intervals.
Use only products recommended by CITROËN or equivalent quality. CITROËN selects specific products for optimal operation of critical units like the braking system.
Check the level according to the manufacturer’s servicing schedule. If the warning lamp comes on, bleed the filter. Otherwise, bleed regularly each oil change. Unscrew the bleed screw, drain until water no longer flows, then tighten the screw.
Maintenance must be carried out by a CITROËN dealer. Water vapour may occasionally appear at the exhaust during low-speed driving; this is normal and harmless.
Change regularly per the manufacturer’s servicing schedule. HDi engines require specialized work performed by a CITROËN dealer. Avoid high-pressure washing of the engine compartment.
Fill the fuel tank with engine off. Open the filler flap, insert the key, turn quarter turn, remove cap, and hook it inside the flap. Minimum fuel triggers a warning lamp; approximately 8 litres remain. Fill promptly. Never run out of fuel to avoid damage to emissions and injection systems.
Refer to the label inside the flap. Fill at least 5 litres for gauge registration. Do not exceed the third nozzle cut-off. Tank capacity is approximately 60 litres. Petrol engines are compatible with E10 (10% ethanol). E85 fuels are for BioFlex vehicles only.
If the warning lamp flashes, check for odours or leakage, then re-establish fuel supply: switch off ignition, remove key, reinsert, and start engine.
Refer to chapter 7, "Under the bonnet". Diesel engines are compatible with biofuels up to 7% Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (EN 14214). B30 biofuel use requires strict adherence to servicing conditions. Avoid other biofuels. If fuel runs out, prime by filling at least 5 litres and using the manual priming pump before starting the engine.
While the AdBlue® tank has sufficient quantity, no info is displayed. When level drops to 1,500 miles (2,400 km) range, temporary alerts appear (warning lamp, message, audible signal). Alerts intensify as range decreases. When empty, restarting is impossible. Top-up the
