Each radio frequency device installed in the vehicle conforms to FCC and Industry Canada requirements:

  • FCC Part 15: Operation subject to not causing harmful interference and accepting received interference.
  • Changes not approved by responsible party may void user authority to operate the device.
  • Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard compliance with the same conditions.

U.S. Safety Defect Reporting

If you believe your vehicle has a defect that could cause a crash, injury, or death, notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. immediately. NHTSA may open an investigation if multiple complaints exist.

Canadian Safety Defect Reporting

If you believe your vehicle has a defect that could cause a crash, injury, or death, notify Honda Canada Inc. and optionally Transport Canada. Transport Canada may open an investigation and recall campaign if a safety defect exists.

Testing of Readiness Codes

Your vehicle’s onboard self-diagnostic system uses readiness codes to verify emissions components. Codes may not be set immediately after battery disconnection. To check:

  1. Turn ignition to ON without starting engine; the malfunction indicator lamp will light for several seconds.
  2. If lamp turns off, readiness codes are set; if blinking 5 times, codes are not set.

To prepare for retesting:

  1. Fill gas tank ~3/4 full.
  2. Park vehicle, engine off, for ≥6 hours.
  3. Ensure ambient temperature 40–95°F (4–35°C).
  4. Start engine, idle 20 seconds without pressing accelerator.
  5. Keep in (P) CVT or (N) manual; raise engine speed to 2,000 rpm, hold 3 minutes.
  6. Idle 20 seconds without accelerator.
  7. Drive on nearby highway 50–60 mph (80–97 km/h) 20+ minutes, D or 5th gear; no cruise control; 90 seconds without accelerator if possible.
  8. Drive in city/suburban traffic ≥10 minutes; coast without accelerator/brake for several seconds when possible.
  9. Park, engine off, 30 minutes.
