To Use Maintenance Minder™

Maintenance items that should be serviced when you replace the engine oil appear on the driver information interface. You can view them on the Maintenance Minder screen at any time.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (w*1).
  2. Press the button several times until Maintenance Minder is displayed.
  3. Press ENTER to go to the Maintenance Minder screen. The engine oil life appears along with maintenance items due soon.

Displaying the Maintenance Minder Information

Based on engine operating conditions and oil age, the remaining engine oil life is calculated and displayed as a percentage. A list of main and sub maintenance items can be viewed on the driver information interface.

Maintenance Minder Messages

Maintenance Message Oil Life Display Explanation
Displays codes for maintenance items due at next oil change with percentage of engine oil life remaining.
Maintenance Due Soon 15% Engine oil approaching end of service life; indicator appears with other due-soon maintenance codes.
Maintenance Due Now 5–1% Engine oil near end of service life; maintenance items should be inspected and serviced immediately.
Maintenance Past Due Negative distance Engine oil life has passed; maintenance items must be inspected and serviced immediately. Display blinks.

Maintenance Service Items

Adjust valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 if noisy.

Main Items
  • A – Replace engine oil*1
  • B – Replace engine oil*1 and oil filter, inspect front/rear brakes, check temporary tire repair kit, inspect tie rods, steering gearbox, suspension, driveshaft boots, brake hoses/lines, fluid levels, exhaust system, fuel lines
Sub Items
  • 1 – Rotate tires
  • 2 – Replace air cleaner element*2, replace dust/pollen filter*3, inspect drive belt
  • 3 – Replace transmission fluid*4
  • 4 – Replace spark plugs, inspect valve clearance
  • 5 – Replace engine coolant
  • 7 – Replace brake fluid*5
  • 9 – Service front/rear brakes, inspect tie rods, suspension, driveshaft boots, brake hoses/lines, fluids, exhaust, fuel lines

Resetting the Maintenance Minder Display

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON (w*1).
  2. Press the display/information button until the Maintenance Minder screen appears.
  3. Press ENTER.
  4. Press and hold ENTER for ~10 seconds to enter reset mode.
  5. Press / to select a maintenance item to reset, or choose All Due Items. Cancel to exit.
  6. Press ENTER to reset selected item.
  7. Repeat from step 4 for other items as needed.

Notice: Failure to reset after maintenance will show incorrect intervals, which may cause mechanical problems. Dealers will reset the display after maintenance. Users can reset it themselves if maintenance is performed outside the dealer.

Models with Display Audio use the ENTER and display/information buttons for this process.
