Playing a USB Flash Drive

Your audio system reads and plays sound files on a USB flash drive in MP3, WMA, or AAC*1 format. Connect your USB flash drive to the USB port, then select USB mode.

*1: Only AAC files recorded with iTunes are playable on this unit. *2: Some or all lists may not be displayed.

Track and Folder Controls

  • Track Icons: Select or to change files; hold to move rapidly within a track.
  • Open/Close Icon*2: Displays or hides detailed information.
  • Folder Icons: Select to skip to next folder or previous folder beginning.

Audio System Controls

  • Driver Information Interface Button: Go back to previous display.
  • VOL/AUDIO Knob: Turn system on/off and adjust volume.
  • MENU Button: Select Music Search → Music → Folder → Track.

Use recommended USB flash drives. WMA files protected by DRM cannot be played. The system displays "Unplayable File" and skips to the next file if necessary.

Folder and Track Selection

You can select scan, repeat, and random modes:

  • Scan: Provides 10-second sampling of first file in main folders or all files in current folder.
  • Random/Repeat: Random in Folder, Random All Tracks, Repeat Folder, Repeat Track.
  • To turn off a play mode, select the mode again or press Cancel.

Bluetooth® Audio

  1. Ensure phone is paired and connected.
  2. Select Bluetooth® Audio mode.
  3. Select play icon or pause icon to control playback.

Switching to another mode pauses audio from the phone. You can change connected phones via MENU → Setting → Bluetooth® settings. Depending on the device, some lists may not display.

HondaLink® Service

  1. Press the button → Settings → Info → HondaLink tab → Diagnostics & Location Data → On.

Consent to location service is required. Options: Enable once, Always Enable, Cancel.

Messages and Vehicle Information

New messages appear in the header area with a notification ring. Message icon remains until read.

Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Press button → Settings → Bluetooth/Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi tab → Wi-Fi On/Off → On.
  2. Select Wi-Fi Device List → choose phone (ensure tethering mode is on) → Connect → Enter password if required.

Connection icon appears on top of the screen. Setup cannot be done while driving. Carrier data charges may apply.

Siri Eyes Free

Press (Talk) button to activate Siri via Bluetooth® HFL. Press (Hang-up/back) to deactivate. Display remains unchanged while using Siri Eyes Free. Some commands depend on phone features or apps.

Apple CarPlay

Connect Apple CarPlay-compatible iPhone via front USB to use phone, music, maps, and messages on the vehicle screen. Only iPhone 5 or newer with iOS 8.4+ is compatible. Connect in a safe location.

  • Phone: Access contacts, make calls, listen to voicemail.
  • Messages: Check/reply to texts or have messages read aloud.
  • Music: Play iPhone music.
  • Maps: Use Apple Maps for navigation.

Only one navigation system (pre-installed or Apple CarPlay) can give directions at a time. User and vehicle information may be transmitted to iPhone to enhance CarPlay experience. Consent is required: Enable Once, Always Enable, or Cancel. Carrier rates apply. Bluetooth Audio/HFL unavailable while CarPlay is connected.

Android Auto

Connect Android phone via front USB to access Phone, Google Maps, Google Play Music, and Google Now on vehicle screen. Tutorial appears on first use. Only Android 5.0+ supported. Bluetooth A2DP cannot be used simultaneously. Previously paired phones can stream via Bluetooth while Android Auto is active.

  • Maps: Google Maps navigation; only one navigation system active at a time.
  • Phone: Make/receive calls and listen to voicemail.
  • Google Now: Displays contextual cards with useful information.

Android Auto requires a compatible phone with active cellular/data plan. Carrier rates apply. Functionality may change with OS/software/hardware updates. 3rd party apps compatible with Android Auto may be used.

Note: Use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto setup in a safe, stationary location.
