SPORT Mode*
To turn the SPORT mode on and off, press the SPORT button. With SPORT mode activated, the driver can enjoy enhanced engine response, and greater stability and handling. The SPORT mode is turned off every time you start the engine, even if you turned it on the last time you drove the vehicle.
- The mode may not be able to be changed under some driving conditions. Reduce speed or cornering speed if necessary.
- This message may also appear if there is a vehicle system failure.
SPORT Button | SPORT Mode Indicator
ECON Mode*
The ECON button turns the ECON mode on and off. ECON mode helps improve fuel economy by adjusting engine, transmission, climate control, and cruise control performance.
- While in ECON mode, the climate control system may have greater temperature fluctuations.
Adaptive Damper System*
Constantly controls front and rear dampers according to road conditions, vehicle speed, and steering. Handling response can be changed by turning SPORT mode on.
Cruise Control*
Maintains a constant vehicle speed without keeping your foot on the accelerator. Use on freeways or open roads.
- May not maintain constant speed uphill or downhill.
- Turn off cruise control by pressing the CRUISE button when not in use.
- Maintain gear changes within 5 seconds to hold set speed.
Using Cruise Control
- Ensure CRUISE MAIN is on. Press CRUISE button.
- Take your foot off the pedal and press –/SET button at desired speed. Cruise control begins, indicator comes on.
- Adjust speed with RES/+ or –/SET buttons (1 mph/1.6 km/h per press).
- Cancel cruise control via CANCEL button, CRUISE button, brake, or clutch (5+ seconds).
- Resume prior speed with RES/+ button if speed ≥ 25 mph (40 km/h).
Vehicle Stability Assist® (VSA®) / Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Helps stabilize the vehicle during cornering and maintain traction on slippery surfaces by regulating engine output and applying brakes selectively. May notice engine response delay, hydraulic noise, or indicator blinking.
- VSA® may not function properly with mixed tire types/sizes.
- If VSA® indicator stays on, have vehicle checked by dealer.
- VSA® cannot enhance stability in all situations; drive at safe speeds and maintain margin of safety.
Agile Handling Assist
Lightly brakes selective wheels during cornering to support stability and performance. Does not enhance stability in all driving situations. Engine sounds during activation are normal.
Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
Delivers extra torque to wheels with most traction to minimize slip. Ensure both front tires are same brand, size, and wear for proper function.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Monitors rolling radius and rotation of each tire to detect under-inflation. TPMS calibration is required after:
- Adjusting tire pressure
- Rotating tires
- Replacing tires
Before calibration:
- Set cold tire pressure on all four tires
- Vehicle must be stopped
- Shift lever in N or P
- Ignition ON (or ENGINE START/STOP for smart entry models)
TPMS Calibration Procedure
- Press / button to select Vehicle Settings, then ENTER.
- Select TPMS Calibration, choose Cancel or Calibrate, then press ENTER.
- Calibration starts automatically; repeat if "Calibration Failed to Start" appears.
Notes:
- Calibration requires ~30 minutes of driving at 30-65 mph (48-105 km/h).
- Remove snow chains before calibration.
- Do not calibrate with a compact spare tire installed.
- If low tire pressure indicator comes on with proper tires, consult dealer.
Models with Color Audio System
- Press Home → Settings → Vehicle → TPMS Calibration.
- Select Cancel or Calibrate; process completes automatically.
Indicators for ACC, ACC with Low Speed Follow, RDM, VSA®, VSA® OFF, TPMS, and CMBS may come on after reconnecting battery; drive above 12 mph (20 km/h) to reset. If indicators persist, consult dealer.
