Increase or Decrease Vehicle Speed & Cruise Control

Adjusting Vehicle Speed with RES/+ or –/SET

  • Each press of RES/+ or –/SET changes vehicle speed by about 1 mph (1 km/h).
  • Holding RES/+ or –/SET changes speed by about 5 mph (5 km/h) continuously.

To Adjust Vehicle Speed

If a slower vehicle is detected ahead, ACC may not accelerate your vehicle to maintain safe interval. Pressing –/SET after accelerating sets the current speed.

Following-Interval Adjustment

Press the (interval) button to cycle through extra long, long, middle, and short intervals. Choose the appropriate interval based on driving conditions and local regulations.

To Cancel ACC

  • Press the CANCEL button
  • Press the MAIN button
  • Depress the brake pedal
  • Depress the clutch pedal for five seconds or more

The ACC indicator (green) goes off.

Resuming Prior Set Speed

After canceling ACC, press RES/+ while driving at ≥25 mph (40 km/h) to resume prior set speed. Cannot resume if MAIN button is off; turn MAIN on first.

Automatic Cancellation

ACC may cancel automatically under the following conditions:

  • Bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.)
  • Dirty radar sensor
  • Undetectable vehicle ahead
  • Abnormal tires or skidding
  • Mountainous/off-road driving for long periods
  • Abrupt steering movements
  • ABS, VSA®, or CMBSTM activation
  • Parking brake applied manually
  • Vehicle within ACC range too close
  • Dirty camera or windshield
  • Exceeding maximum load limit
  • Passing through tunnels or enclosed spaces
  • Ignoring tachometer shift down indication
  • Engine speed in red zone or below 1,000 rpm
  • Shifting to neutral temporarily

After conditions improve, press –/SET to resume prior speed.

Switching ACC to Cruise Control

Press and hold the (interval) button for 1 second to switch modes. Cruise Mode Selected appears for 2 seconds. Press again to switch back to ACC.

When to Use Cruise Control

  • Desired speed ≥25 mph (40 km/h)
  • Press –/SET to fix speed and activate Cruise Control; CRUISE CONTROL indicator turns on
  • Straight Driving Assist is activated for easier straight-line driving

Adjust Vehicle Speed in Cruise Control

  • Each press of RES/+ or –/SET changes speed by ~1 mph (1.6 km/h)
  • Holding RES/+ or –/SET adjusts speed until released

Cancel Cruise Control

  • Press CANCEL
  • Press MAIN
  • Depress brake pedal
  • Depress clutch pedal ≥5 seconds

The CRUISE CONTROL indicator turns off.

Resuming Cruise Control Speed

Press RES/+ while driving ≥25 mph (40 km/h) to resume prior speed. Cannot resume if MAIN button is off.

At ≤22 mph (35 km/h), cruise control automatically cancels.
