Rear Vision Camera (RVC)
When the vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse), the RVC displays an image of the area behind the vehicle in the infotainment display. The previous screen displays when the vehicle is shifted out of R after a short delay. To return to the previous screen sooner, press Home or Back on the infotainment system, shift into P (Park), or reach approximately 12 km/h (8 mph) while in D (Drive). The rear vision camera is located above the license plate.
1. View Displayed by the Camera
- Corners of the rear bumper may be visible, but objects close to the corners or under the bumper may not display.
- A warning triangle may appear if RPA or RCTA detects an object. The triangle changes from amber to red and grows larger the closer the object.
Warning: The camera(s) do not display children, pedestrians, bicyclists, crossing traffic, animals, or objects outside the field of view, below the bumper, or under the vehicle. Shown distances may differ from actual distances. Always check behind and around the vehicle before driving. Failure to do so may result in injury, death, or vehicle damage.
Surround Vision System
If equipped, the Surround Vision system can display various views around the vehicle on the infotainment display. Camera view descriptions are provided below.
Warning: Surround Vision cameras have blind spots and may not display all objects near vehicle corners. Folding outside mirrors out of position may affect the surround view. Always check around the vehicle when parking or backing.
Camera Views
Touch the camera view buttons along the bottom of the infotainment display to access each view (if equipped):
- Front/Rear Standard View: Shows the area in front or behind the vehicle. Front view also appears when Park Assist detects an object within 30 cm (12 in).
- Front/Rear Top-Down View: Displays an overhead view of the front or rear.
- Front/Rear Side View: Shows objects next to the vehicle sides. Toggle between front and rear views. Park Assist overlays are unavailable.
- Hitch View: Zoomed-in view of the hitch area for trailer alignment. Automatically engages EPB in P (Park).
- Surround View: Shows the area around the vehicle. Disabled above 12 km/h (8 mph).
- Camera App Guidance Lines: Includes No Guidance, Vehicle Guidance, and Trailering Guidance modes.
- Hitch Guidance: A single centered guidance line for trailer alignment.
- Rear Trailer Guidance Lines: Shows intended (yellow) and current (blue) trailer path in Trailering Guidance mode.
- Interior Trailer View: Displays the interior of a connected trailer using accessory cameras.
- Transparent Trailer View: Allows a virtual “see-through” view of the trailer using accessory cameras. Left or right variations may appear based on trailer position.
Additional Views and Alerts
- Turn Signal Activated Views: Displays a rearward view on the left or right side depending on turn signal activation.
- Jack-Knife Detection and Alert: Tracks trailer position relative to the vehicle and provides visual or audible alerts if collision is imminent.
- Trailer Angle Indicator: Shows a visual representation of the trailer’s angle relative to the vehicle.
