Cruise Control / Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Press ON/OFF to turn the system on or off. A white indicator appears in the instrument cluster when cruise is turned on.

  • RES+ : If a set speed is in memory, press briefly to resume that speed or press and hold to accelerate. If cruise control is already active, use to increase vehicle speed.
  • SET− : Press briefly to set the speed and activate cruise control. If cruise is already active, use to decrease vehicle speed.
  • * : Press to disengage cruise control without erasing the set speed from memory.

Setting Cruise Control

Keep the system off when not in use to avoid accidental activation. To set cruise control:

  1. Press ON/OFF.
  2. Reach the desired speed.
  3. Press and release SET−.
  4. Remove your foot from the accelerator.

When set, a green cruise control indicator appears on the instrument cluster and a cruise set speed message appears on the DIC and HUD if equipped.

Resuming a Set Speed

If brakes are applied or * is pressed, cruise is disengaged without erasing the set speed. Press RES+ briefly to return to the previous set speed once the vehicle speed reaches about 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.

Adjusting Speed While Cruise Control is Active

  • Increasing Speed: Hold RES+ to accelerate, or press briefly to increase by ~1 km/h (1 mph) per detent.
  • Reducing Speed: Hold SET− to decelerate, or press briefly to decrease by ~1 km/h (1 mph) per detent.

Passing Another Vehicle

Use the accelerator to increase speed. Once released, the vehicle slows to the previous set speed. Briefly applying SET− while overriding cruise sets it to the current speed.

Using Cruise Control on Hills

Performance depends on vehicle speed, load, and hill steepness. Press the accelerator uphill if needed. Cruise Grade Braking helps maintain speed downhill by using engine/transmission. To disable or enable Cruise Grade Braking for the current ignition cycle, press and hold the Tow/Haul button for 5 seconds. See Automatic Transmission and Driver Mode Control for details.

Ending Cruise Control

Four ways to end cruise control:

  • Step lightly on the brake pedal.
  • Press *.
  • Shift transmission to N (Neutral).
  • Press ON/OFF.

Erasing Speed Memory

Speed memory is erased if ON/OFF is pressed or ignition is turned off.
