Blind Spot Mirror Operation
- When a vehicle is far away, its image appears small and near the inboard edge.
- As the vehicle gets closer, the image becomes larger and moves outward.
- As the vehicle enters the blind zone, the image transitions to the blind spot mirror.
- When fully in the blind zone, the image appears only in the blind spot mirror.
Using the Outside Mirror with the Blind Spot Mirror
- Set the main mirror so the side of the vehicle is just visible and the blind spot mirror is unobstructed.
-
Check the main mirror for adjacent traffic, then the blind spot mirror, and finally
glance over your shoulder before changing lanes.
Reverse Tilt Mirrors
If equipped with reverse tilt mirrors and memory seats, the driver and/or passenger
mirror tilts when the vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse) to help
view the curb while parking.
The mirror may return to normal when:
- The vehicle is shifted out of Reverse or remains in Reverse for about 30 seconds.
- The vehicle is turned off.
- The vehicle exceeds a set speed while in Reverse.
