If equipped, turn the hand crank on each door to manually raise or lower the manual windows.

Power Windows

Warning: Children could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Never leave the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter or keys in a vehicle with children. When children are in the rear seat, use the window lockout button to prevent window operation.

Power windows work when the ignition is on, in ACC/ACCESSORY, or when Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is active.

Press the window switch to open or pull it to close the window. Windows may be temporarily disabled if used repeatedly within a short time.

Window Lockout

This feature prevents the rear door passenger window switches from operating except from the driver position.

Press 2 to engage the rear window lockout feature. The indicator light turns on when engaged. Press 2 again to disengage.

Windows Express Movement

All windows can be opened without holding the switch. Press the switch down fully and release to express-open the window.

If equipped, pull the switch up fully and release to express-close the window. Briefly press or pull the switch again to stop express movement.

Express Window Down

If equipped, press and hold L to open all windows. Release L to stop movement. Use the window switches to close each window.

Window Automatic Reversal System

The express-close feature will reverse window movement if it contacts an object. Extreme cold or ice may cause auto-reversal. Normal operation resumes after conditions are cleared.

Automatic Reversal System Override

Warning: If override is active, the window will not reverse automatically. Ensure all people and obstructions are clear before use.

With the engine on, pull and hold the window switch to override the automatic reversal system if conditions prevent the window from closing.

Programming the Power Windows

Programming may be required if the battery has been disconnected or discharged.

  1. Close all doors.
  2. Turn the ignition on or to ACC/ACCESSORY.
  3. Partially open the window, then close it and continue pulling the switch briefly after it is fully closed.
  4. Open the window and continue pressing the switch briefly after it is fully opened.
