Hints

Sufficient ventilation: When remaining in the vehicle for an extended period, ensure sufficient external ventilation. Do not continuously use recirculated-air mode; otherwise, air quality in the interior continuously deteriorates and window condensation increases.

Climate Control Functions in Detail

Temperature

Turn the ring to set the desired temperature. The automatic climate control reaches this temperature as quickly as possible, adjusting heating or cooling output as needed, and then maintains it. Do not rapidly switch between different temperature settings, as the system will not have enough time to adjust properly.

AUTO Program

Press the AUTO button. Air flow, distribution, and temperature are controlled automatically. Depending on selected temperature, AUTO intensity program, and outside influences, air is directed to the windshield, side windows, upper body, and footwell. The cooling function is switched on automatically. A condensation sensor controls the program to prevent window fogging. To switch off the program, press the button again or manually adjust the air distribution.

Intensity of the AUTO Program

With the AUTO program activated, automatic intensity control can be changed. Press the left or right side of the button to decrease or increase intensity. The selected intensity is shown on the display.

Defrosts Windows and Removes Condensation

Press the Defrost button. Ice and condensation are quickly removed from the windshield and front side windows. Point side vents toward the side windows as needed and adjust air flow with the program active. For fogged windows, use the cooling function or press AUTO to utilize the condensation sensor.

Air Flow (Manual)

To manually adjust air flow, turn off the AUTO program first. Press the left or right side of the button to decrease or increase air flow. The selected flow is shown on the display. Air flow may be reduced automatically to save battery power.

Manual Air Distribution

Press the button repeatedly to select a program:

  • Upper body region
  • Upper body region and footwell
  • Footwell
  • Windows and footwell
  • Windows, upper body region, and footwell
  • Windows: driver's side only
  • Windows and upper body region
If windows are fogged, press AUTO to use the condensation sensor.

Maximum Cooling

Press the Maximum Cooling button. The system sets the lowest temperature, optimal air flow, and air circulation mode. Air flows to the upper body region; vents must be open. This function is available above approx. 32 ℉ / 0 ℃ and with the engine running.

Automatic Recirculated-Air Control / Recirculated-Air Mode

Respond to unpleasant odors or pollutants by temporarily suspending outside air. Press the button repeatedly to select a mode:

  • LEDs off: outside air flows continuously
  • Left LED on: automatic recirculated-air control (sensor detects pollutants and shuts off automatically)
  • Right LED on: recirculated-air mode (outside air blocked permanently)
Recirculated-air mode switches off automatically at low temperatures to prevent window fogging. Ensure airflow reaches the windshield. For fogged windows, press AUTO.

SYNC Program

Press SYNC to transfer the driver's temperature setting to the front passenger side. The program is switched off if the passenger changes their temperature setting.

Cooling Function

Press Cooling. The air is cooled and dehumidified and, depending on the setting, warmed again. Windows may fog briefly when the engine starts. Cooling is automatically activated with the AUTO program. Condensation water exits underneath the vehicle.
