Drive Modes Overview

Multiple driving modes can be selected using the Drive Mode Selector:

  • 2WD: [SPORT], [STANDARD], [ECO] — push the selector up or down to change.
  • 4WD: [OFF-ROAD], [SNOW], [STANDARD], [ECO], [SPORT] — turn the selector right or left to change.

Note: The mode may not switch immediately; this is not a malfunction. The current mode is displayed in the vehicle information display and the mode list disappears about 5 seconds after selection. You can also clear the message by pressing OK on the steering wheel controls.

The [STANDARD] mode is automatically selected each time the ignition is turned ON.

If the mode cannot be switched using the Drive Mode Selector, visit a NISSAN dealer or qualified workshop.

Warnings

  • Do not stare at the Drive Mode Selector or display while driving to maintain full attention on vehicle operation.
  • Avoid abrupt acceleration, steering, or sudden braking, especially on slippery roads. This may cause tyre slip, skidding, or tail-swing, potentially resulting in an accident.

[OFF-ROAD] Mode (4WD Models)

Allows easier driving or starting on uneven dirt roads, bumpy surfaces, steep uphills, or sand.

Caution: Never drive on dry, hard surfaces in this mode. It may overload the powertrain, cause serious malfunction, premature tyre wear, and reduced fuel economy. Small vibrations or corner braking phenomena may occur; this is normal.

[SNOW] Mode (4WD Models)

Facilitates driving on snowy or frozen roads.

Caution: Never drive on dry, hard surfaces in this mode. Small vibrations in cornering may occur; this is normal.

[STANDARD] Mode

This is the standard mode, most suitable for normal driving.

[ECO] Mode

Assists ECO-driving by adjusting engine and transmission points to improve fuel economy, providing features such as smooth starting and constant cruising.

Do not use ECO mode when:

  • Driving with a heavy load of passengers or cargo.
  • Driving on steep uphill slopes.

Note: ECO mode does not always guarantee improved fuel economy due to driving conditions.

Operation

Select [ECO] mode using the Drive Mode Selector. The [ECO] indicator illuminates:

  • Green when accelerator pedal is in the range of economy drive.
  • Off when pedal exceeds economy range.

The [ECO] indicator will not illuminate when:

  • Transmission is in R (Reverse)
  • Vehicle speed is below 3 km/h (2 MPH) or over 145 km/h (90 MPH)
  • Cruise Control or Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) is active

[ECO Drive Mode]

Changes priority from Cruise Control or ICC to fuel efficiency. Activate/deactivate when ECO mode is selected. When ECO Cruise Control is ON, fuel efficiency is improved by reducing acceleration target. Note that vehicle speed recovery uphill may take longer than normal.

[Tyre ECO Advice]

Shows an ECO advice message when low tyre pressure is detected. With the function ON, [Check Tyre Pressures for Best Energy Economy] appears when tyre pressure drops. Switch to tyre pressure mode using the scroll dial for details.

[ECO Pedal Guide]

Displays in the vehicle information display in ECO mode. Helps improve fuel economy:

  • Green bar: Driving within super economy range
  • Light green bar: Driving within economy range
  • Outside green range: Accelerator depressed beyond economy range
