This vehicle is equipped with Rainsense. A sensor near the top center of the windshield detects water and controls the wiper frequency based on the sensitivity setting. Keep this area clear of debris.
With the vehicle on, move the wiper lever to select the speed:
Adjust the band for intermittent wipes between OFF and LO. Clear snow and ice before using. Replace damaged blades.
When using an automatic car wash, move the wiper lever to OFF to disable Rainsense. If the vehicle is in N (Neutral) and moving slowly, wipers stop at the base automatically.
Release may cause additional wipes. See the owner's manual for fluid refill instructions.
If the vehicle is off while wipers are on LO/HI, they stop immediately. Moving the lever to OFF before opening the driver door or within 10 minutes makes wipers return to base.
Warning lights and gauges indicate problems before they become serious. Some lights briefly come on when starting the engine. If a light stays on while driving, check the relevant section immediately.
Flashes and chimes when vehicle starts until driver fastens belt. Cycle may repeat if unbuckled while driving.
Flashes and chimes for passengers until seat belt is buckled. Objects on the seat may trigger the reminder; remove the object or buckle the belt.
Lights remind rear passengers to fasten belts. X = not buckled, ✓ = buckled. Chime may sound if unbuckled. Remove objects or buckle the belt to stop alert.
Indicates electrical issues with the airbag system. Comes on for several seconds at start. If it stays on, have the system serviced immediately.
Shows status of front passenger airbag via ON/OFF symbols. ON = airbag active, OFF = deactivated by passenger sensing system. If both remain lit or off unexpectedly, have dealer inspect immediately.
Comes on briefly at start to check function. If it stays on, inspect brakes immediately. Low fluid may also trigger it. Electric brake boost may limit speed or affect pedal feel.
With TPMS, light comes on briefly at start. Steady = one or more tires underinflated. Flash then steady = TPMS problem. Check tires and inflate to correct pressure. Refer to Tire and Loading Information label.
